MATTHEW R CASSIDY

 I am a designer/ fabricator pursuing a career in themed entertainment.  My primary passion is on building fully immersive experiences, focusing not only the visual and audio aspects of entertainment design, but the integration of systems for diegetic scent and haptic feedback as well. I feel that the Entertainment industry is moving ever further in this direction and want nothing more than to be involved of creating totally believable worlds.

As someone who has worked extensively in the service industry, as well as in production for theatrical entertainment and consumer markets, I understand the importance of not only creating a quality product but maintaining that product’s standards to ensure a consistent and reliable experience for every patron.  I love the constant challenge of growing and evolving an attraction or land in a way that stays true to its brand/ source material. 

I have ten years of fabrication experience, having earned a BS in Entertainment Design in 2008 and an Associates degree in Welding and metal fabrication in 2013.  I am constantly striving to learn new skills and techniques and have developed a critical eye and strong sense of what it means to deliver a high-end product, having worked on projects for companies such as Disney, Toyota, and Lacoste.

I am a currently a MFA candidate in Entertainment Design at SCAD university, will be graduating June 2018, and seeking opportunities in: Design, Fabrication, Management, and Show Quality.
